The Girls

Molly

Molly is our "Good Girl". She is very obedient. She loves to play with her toys. She has more toys than a baby. She loves her balls the best. She will spend all day just bringing back her toys for us to throw. She loves playing with children. She gets sad when company leaves and her little friends have to go home.

Maggie

Maggie is typically our "Bad Girl". She loves to chase and play with small animals until they don't move anymore. Now this may be our fault for her favorite toys as a pup and even now are small stuffed animals that squeak. She loves to chase field mice in the winter and toss them up by their tales and pounce on them. She loves food. She steals food and she will eat almost anything including 30 day old rotting ground hogs EWE!!!!

Maggie stole a piece of sweet corn from the garden and was munching on the raw ear one summer. The little stinker!

Mindy
A stray bud found all skin and bones. she is eating well now and has filled out a bit.

Mindy is the sweetest dog. She is very careful about where she steps and doesn't like stepped on by the other dogs. If she is snuggling she is very careful about where she places her feet never stepping on us or the other dogs. She is loves to snuggle and also loves children.

She does not like young boys with baseball caps. A friend and his son came over and Mindy was down on her belly shaking and crawling to the door trying to get away from the young boy. We figured she must have been teased or tortured as a young pup but a young boy or boys with baseball caps before we found her.

How she was found: We already had two crazy dogs but soft hearted Bud came home one day with this black and tan collie nosed stray. The poor thing was so skinny you could see every rib. She was very tired and slept the first 3 days we had her. We took her to the vet who said she was only 7 months old. Someone had apparently dumped her on a back road. Bud had driven past her on his way home from work for days. She was chasing cars and sleeping in an old tree. He noticed the last day she had run out of energy and wasn't chasing the cars anymore. He stopped opened the passenger door and she jumped up on the seat curled up and fell asleep for the drive home. Someone had definitely dumped her. We discovered animals that are dumped will stay put not look for food and wait for their owner to return. Usually starving to death in the process. If you have an animal you don't want please be responsible and take him/her to a rescue!!! At least the animal has a chance of finding a good home that way.

Mindy is happy to have a home and we are happy to have her. Someone offered to take her and keep her as an outside dog shortly after we found her. But by then it was too late she was already part of the family and we couldn't part with her.

Whoever tried to throw her away threw away a great dog. One of the best dogs we have ever had.!!!
